History
Unique Curtain & Blind Co are a family owned and operated business, which has been its present trading entity as of 1987. However under previous trading entities such as Xanadu Curtains and Curtain and Blind Express we have been supplying top quality window furnishings to the Perth and country areas of W.A. since 1978 and even now we still get clients coming back from over 20yrs ago which says something about our overall service and quality.


Location
We are located in the Balcatta Central business centre as Balcatta is on the cross roads of the four freeways giving easy road access for both us, and our clients wherever in the Metro area they may be.


Innovation
I have over the years developed many products for the trade from our patented pelmet system to minor cosmetic improvements to standard curtain treatments as well as the Uni-Q rtm Set Pleat sold Australia wide as an aid to manufacture. At this time we are actively promoting our new totally different curtain track system designed and manufactured by us.


Experience & Service
We are not a large business, as I do not believe one can maintain the level of service or quality required which I feel a larger business requires. Jonathan my son, is now 32 and came into the business at 14 and he is the man you see and like most fathers and sons we argue but one cannot detract from him his undoubted abilities both in interior design combined with practical advice of the highest level and I am very lucky he has chosen to continue the business leaving me to pursue R&D on new products. Me you will rarely see but I am always available if an old customer wants to see me.

Barry our fitter has been with us for 24yrs, and as fitters are the last line of defence for any curtain store, if they are bad the company gets a bad name so when a job is sold he comes and checks all the sizes which means you don’t have a perfect stranger turn up to fit your job, and he knows exactly what is being done. He is a man of few words who goes about his job cleanly and efficiently you most definitely will not have to clean up after him.

My basic business policy is as it has always been if we make or do something wrong we fix it quickly no matter the cost is to us.

Quotations are always fully itemised item for item so there is no doubt as to your costs indeed they are so transparent you can easily take them elsewhere to compare prices nothing is slight of hand and a basic printed quote to give you a quick indication of cost takes about 10 minutes a window from a plan. Based around average priced fabrics of which we really do have a huge range both in price and style.

The hardest thing in business is to find a customer the 2nd hardest thing is to keep them. D.J.C.
